"Love is a rebellious bird that no one can tame." The 50th Season closes with Bizet’s seductive & dramatic opera CARMEN. This opera includes some of the most beloved & recognizable music in the repertoire: the sultry “Habanera”, the beguiling “Seguidilla” and the heroic “Toreador Song”. Carmen is the ultimate femme fatale & this free-spirited gypsy will not be easily captured. The story begins when the naïve Don José falls for the beautiful cigarette girl Carmen. He quickly becomes dangerously obsessed, breaking up with his childhood sweetheart & abandoning the military. But the reckless Carmen cannot be tamed, & she grows tired of Don José once she meets the glamorous & exciting toreador, Escamillo. This messy love triangle is doomed!
